The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 这种导演拿到更高预算应该是一件好事，可是就像《灯塔》里解构普罗米修斯令我不齿，还原王子复仇的原型我亦看不见生存还是毁灭的答卷，又或者，艾格斯的答案过于反文明且黑暗，我不想看见？
牛逼!上半年看到的为数不多的好电影。改编自《哈姆雷特》，但故事的说服力和人物的可信度比莎翁几百年前的剧本更高，一个半小时之后，剧情迎来一波反转，导演渐渐亮了出了底牌——野蛮文明之下的社会只不过是靠内部斗争加以更迭，这样的文明终究会被灭亡，而更高级的文明是像基督一样，用爱和宽容去进化这个世界。不过它和以往影史上那些直接赞美主的经典宗教电影并不一样，它通过刻画野蛮的文明，间接证明基督文明的包容性。艾格斯真正走向成熟的作品，以上总结出来的表达比他前作更为成熟，而这个导演对民俗一直以来的深入研究和那些充满神秘感的视听语言也更成熟地跟主题契合，我很看好这个导演接下来的发展。

拍摄出色，灯光，构图，都有设计，大量的剪影拍摄，美术设计强。

导演一以贯之的风格，让电影自始至终都渗透着潮湿且肮脏的暴力和美感。它不是一个简单的王子复仇，它更像是一场在无尽暴力和血腥笼罩之下、无限轮回的命运传说。

Cineplex. International Village. 7/10 已经许久没有因为一个预告片和几个碎片式的影评讨论而如此期待过一部电影，甚至到要放弃两件订好的事情，赶在第一场就去看的时候了。
有一点没想到这是艾格斯的片子 依旧是风格感十足的影调 但故事稍微无聊了一点点 画面和声音层面的质感让我很想在电影院看一遍//啊 什么时候能进电影院看影展啊
镜头调度，服化道很不错，但是剧情太简单了，作为复仇来说不够爽，还有动作设计拉了。

It just builds and builds and keeps getting better! I didn't know what to expect going in but came out mind-pretty-fucking-blown.
