The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 还说poor old millennials是怎么得罪雷导了，看完确实觉得气场不合。罗生门结构就大可不必，明明已经站队了，不然可以想象《狩猎》那样充满猜疑 神经紧绷的效果；命题作文让角色脸谱化；还有大部分观众真是厌倦了liberal woke culture...光是看剧情简介就不想买票进影院。
三个视角的罗生门，自大自恋的人能把强奸想象成被勾引。

以三个人的视角分别讲述，每个人因为立场不同感受不同，这样的视角变化并不新鲜，而且这些不同对于剧情没有任何推进，反而显得非常重复和拖沓。
好看，近年来纯正的武侠片稀缺。黄飞鸿式的拔刀斋也算是一种填补。
7.5分。论拍古装片，Ridley Scott绝对是大拿中的大拿。这么个简单的案子竟然被他拍出了史诗感？？三人的罗生门设计很不错，蛮横又粗俗无礼的无能丈夫，自恋又拔吊无情的花花公子，同一段历史两个人讲出了不同的故事，一个看另一个狼心狗肺，一个看另一个不识好歹，从好友变成陌路，从陌路又成为了仇敌。直到此时整个电影都很精彩，但为什么最后还要来个所谓妻子说的“真相”呢？正是这所谓的真相，让电影泄了气，又变成了个弱女子控诉世道不公的电影，让最后所谓的决斗变得有点滑稽了。其实完全可以设计成真正的罗生门嘛，花花公子的部分可以拍成通J不就成了~~不过单纯以动作场面而论，最后的大战还是非常精彩的。中世纪电影耗资巨大却票房潜力有限，本片无论服道演都趋于完美，票房却如此惨烈，后继可能不会再有人投资了哎。。。。
前两段叙事略显冗余，只有两处对比比较有意思：一是卡鲁日与玛格丽特对于告知被强暴那天晚上的记忆，二是勒·格里与玛格丽特对于强暴当天的记忆。
最后一部影院看的预告片，一直拖着不想看。越还原就越失真显尬，马达老本写的出戏演的诡异，像是黄毛班长的两个课代表抢班花，但一个巫师支线连做三次也会开始在乎谁被谁戳死，被带上的道具组就比较惨
《罗生门》式叙事，中世纪男性成王败寇的权利斗争与女性身不由己的命运哀歌。
不小的制作，却拍得这么丑，难得的魄力和创作决心。唯一遗憾的是，结尾还是不够给力，总感觉背后还有真相，编导似乎也有这个意图，但没点破。
顺序看对了还是顶多3.5，对村花的表演始终喜欢不起来，也有脚本的缘故吧。

太喜欢了，绝对会是我年度十佳的片子。把对女性的关怀视角和中世纪真实的最后一个法律决斗故事结合，实在是新颖，确实是从古至今的女性悲歌，想雷老爷子致敬！强奸是否属实完全取决于两个男人武力决斗的胜利，实在是荒谬，而最后国王和百姓的狂欢都送给了男主，没有女主什么事。三个视角中小细节的不同太有意思了，比如两个男主都觉得是自己大度破冰，一样的台词但是是不同的人说的，比如女主逃上楼时掉下的鞋子。不过就算事实真的是第二个版本的，也完全是个强奸啊，很难想象男人会把这样的互动也理解为你情我愿。另外Jodie太美了。
最后男主胜利围观妇女为男女主夫妇鼓掌那里真是莫大的讽刺
亚当司机的帅就是那种，帅的程度感觉刚刚落在渣男或者海王那一档之下一点点，trick你他仿佛是好人里最帅的那一档，但转身就看到他一脸无辜的在用力草一匹母马….
